Ombra is an engineering-led maker of two louvered pergolas — electric and manual — and their retractable sun shades. Every system is designed, machined, powder-coated and packed as a ready-to-assemble kit by one team, in one factory, in Best, the Netherlands.

Three principles, unchanged since day oneA kit, not a compromise
Every system ships as a ready-to-assemble kit: profiles machined, drilled and labeled so that two people typically install in 6–8 hours. The posts land where the drawings say they will — and for the motorized hookup we recommend a certified electrician.
Engineering first
Every profile is calculated before it is drawn. Wind load, water evacuation, motor torque, thermal movement — we resolve the physics first, then refine the line.
The factory stands behind the showroom
Our showroom shares a wall with the production floor. What you order is machined by the people who designed it, and the parts stay available long after your pergola is up.

28,000 m² in Best, the Netherlands
Every Ombra system begins and ends in the same building: our 28,000 m² factory in Best, the Netherlands. Profiles are cut, machined and assembled a short drive from most of the terraces they will eventually cover — which is why a promised tolerance is a kept one.
Powder-coating happens in-house, on our own line. That means both finishes — Anthracite RAL 7016 and White RAL 9010 — coated without a middleman, in a process we inspect ourselves rather than merely specify.
We also hold a 15-year parts stock for every system we have ever sold. When a motor, a screen fabric or a louver bearing needs replacing a decade from now, the part is on the shelf — not discontinued.

Louvers opening overhead, a zip screen running down drum-tight — some things a photograph cannot carry. We keep one showroom, next to the factory in Best, and it holds every system at full scale, with an engineer on hand for the difficult questions.
